about

Representing the backhand slap handshake back in the day...you dig...haha!! 5/4 time signature in the A section trying to create a more intense vibe. The B section is in 6/4 totally different but its like a release or taking a breath. Love the build up of the strings done by my son James in the 2nd B section bass solo. Some great guitar work from Marcus Millers guitar player Dean Brown and great playing by New York drummer (Average White Band) Bryan Dunne. All parts were recorded in different parts of the world. Guitar, drums, sax (Jay Rodriguez) in the USA, keys parts in Japan by long time uso and talented keyboardist Elia Gaitau, percussion by long time friend Juan Muzzio and I recorded bass parts both in Australia and NZ. Used the Pedulla Bass through an Avalon Pre Amp and the Roland GT 10B bass effect unit to try and emulate a fretless bass sound in the B section. It took a while to get in the zone to record the bass solo.
